Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, said that Jurgen Klopp’s team is a formidable opponent and that Liverpool “are back.”

Both teams took a weekend off from Premier League play to compete in the FA Cup’s third round. Liverpool defeated Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates before City easily defeated Huddersfield Town 5-0 at the Etihad.

Following their 4-2 victory over Newcastle United on New Year’s Day, Klopp’s team is presently leading the Premier League. The Reds lead second-place Aston Villa by three points.

While they still have a game in hand on the Anfield team, City is five points behind the Reds. Guardiola recently declared that his team will win the championship this year, but he later acknowledged that he is cautious about the threat the Reds pose in a statement made following his team’s victory over Town.

“We have one game in hand in the Premier League,” he stated. Our main adversary, Liverpool, is returning, along with Arsenal, Tottenham, and many more excellent teams. It’s crucial to be present. But we also realize that it will be challenging if we lose a lot of points.

Prior to that, he said, “We have a tough game coming up in Newcastle. After that, we have two weeks to regroup and travel to Abu Dhabi for better training conditions. I want everyone to show up in good shape for the second part.

“I want Jack [Grealish], Jeremy [Doku], Erling, and Kevin back.” We have a team that can participate in many events until the very end once everyone is back.”
